I am about to take it into the mountains so > what is your advice before I travel? > > 82 FC-35 "Perfect Weekend" > I notice that the water temp will hang around 190 once I let it get hot enough to turn the fan on. So, if I hammer on it too hard and the fan comes on it stays on until we drop off a very long hill. The fan comes on around 190 and turns off when the temp reaches 185. I have replaced my thermostats. They require 180deg.thermostats. Someone had put 160deg thermostats in, trying to get it to run cooler, I suppose. I think 160's made it smoke more. Caterpiller says 180's are correct. I don't know if all this will help or not. Harold Prescott '85 FC35 Northern California |
