directionals not working?
We're leaving on a trip tomorrow and when I went to fuel up I notice
the directionals are not working, and either are the hazard lights.
The last trip we had taken, there was a random (sounded like a relay
clicking) noise coming from the center console (where two drawers
are). Since then, I've had the drawers out and dash out replacing the
EL inverters. I tried to be very careful putting everything back, not
to leave any loose or disconnected wires.
When I put on the directional or hazard switch now, there is a
distinct click coming from a silver box (roughly 6" x 6" x 1" )
mounted right above the top drawer inside the center console. If I am
reading the drawings correctly it is the PMMI switch relay box, or
something like that ( I don't remember exactly what the drawing
said). The drawing also shows a flasher and a fuse.
So, is the clicking in the box a symptom or the problem? Is the box
fixable, replaceable? From where? Does anyone know where the flasher
and fuse physically are? Or basically where do I start with this
problem??? I'd like to get it fixed before we leave. Thanks.
