directionals not working?
Tom,

I have an 87FC35, but I can tell you about the silver box. I many
hours when i first got my bird in august trying to figure out where
things were. I also had some problems with my blinkers. The silver
box, if you open it up, is a bunch of relays mounted on a circuit
board. I think there are 8 or 10. They are for the blinkers and
emergency blinkers. They should be clicking when you turn on your
blinkers, that is a good sign. I spent a bunch of time trying to
figure all this out, including talking to PMMI. They eventually found
a schematic.

If i remember correctly, there is a front, rear, and side relay for
right and left blinkers. Plus there is another relay that "fires" all
of the relays if you have your emergencies on.

I would bet (especially since you say you hear clicking) that the
problem isn't in the relays, but I can't help you much beyond here.
My relays were solid after 20 years. If you have a tester, you can
probably see if you are getting 12 volts out of the flashers. It is
probably possible that your relays are clicking, but because you have
a fuse out somewhere, there is not 12 volt input coming into them to
send on to the lights themselves. ...One of the PT guys can probably
help you out here more than me.

Good luck!
(ps, I drove mine on one trip w/o blinkers. Not recommended, but I
wanted to go bad enough and was just extra careful.) Smile
