Yes, I did. And let me tell you it was not easy getting them apart.
Because they are disimilar metals the aluminum was corroded around the
stainless steel. (Some call it "galling")

Here's what I did to separate them. I removed the entire arm and then
removed the bottom portion (grooved) that slides inside the arm. I
found a piece of metal stock, (square) aluminum, that fit inside the
arm. I heated the entire arm and started pounding. I repeated this
step until I even considered buying a new one. (You'll need a vise and
some rags to hold it in place) I used lots of penetrant. It took some
serious pounding but it finally started to move. Continued pounding
until it came apart, cleaned and lulubed it. It works fine now.
