Bob,
I have one window awning that has a rip in the seam where it goes around the roll-up tube. I was looking at the it to determine how to remove the awning and noticed it was pop-rivited to the tube. I am assuming you have to drill the rivets, then detach one of the arms to unwind the spring in order to remove the material. Does this correlate with your experince?
