Hydraulic hose splices

I just replaced the high pressure hydraulic suspension hose on my 85 300TD
Mercedes.
The fittings at the ends are in two parts and can be unscrewed. It would be
possible to do
a splice should such a fitting be available in a union. I don't know if they
are. When I took
the Mercedes fittings to hydraulic hose shops they looked at me as if I was
showing them
a space alien so I suspect screw apart high pressure hydraulic hose fittings may
not be
readily available around here.
