Always check the simple stuff first. If memory serves me correctly the 85 has a manual shifter. Shift the shifter into another gear and then back to neutral. You might even try wiggling the shifter while holding the key in the start position. This is a very common fix. If this and the other items people have suggested don't work I'll try and walk you thru the starting circuit.
