8v92 won't start update
Doug,
Glad you are back on the road and enjoying the trip! You say the engine lost prime and they serviced the racor. I hope they changed the spin on fuel filter(s) also. Seems like the road side service should have diagnosed the fuel starvation simply by dropping the spin on fuel filter(s) like I suggested in my first post, if he had checked to make sure it was getting fuel. Losing prime is an indication of an air leak in the fuel system somewhere or restrictions in the fuel supply, yes, like the plugged spin on fuel filter I described in my earlier response to you, or some other fuel line restriction. More than likely, it's just an air leak somewhere. Sounds to me like the 'real' problem still exists if you are getting check engine lights. You need to pull the code and figure out what is going on. Check your owners manual to find out how to do that if you don't know, or post the question here. You didn't list your coach in your signature on your last message, but I think it was a 1988? If so, I think you have the push button shifter and pulling the codes would involve watching the lights on the shifter console, counting the blinks and then checking the code manual for the related cause. If you are still sucking air somewhere in the fuel supply, running that thing real lean under load is not a good long term solution IMO. I would be watching the gauges really carefully, especially the temperature gauge and the Racor vacuum gauge. Good luck on the rest of the trip.
