Air filter
When I discovered my Donaldson air filter on the generator had
seriously clogged up after a relatively short amount of use, I was
advised to check where the engine breather tube was located.

I discovered that it 'emptied' within a few inches of the air filter
intake. (Talk about a way to sell lots of air filters!)

I purchased some heat-resistant plastic tubing (5/8 O.D. worked for
me) and replaced/rerouted the breather tube. Since the generator
sound box is all steel, this presented some challenges. After
examining several possibilities (that would have required drilling
through the box), I finally routed the tube to the outside by running
it down the street-side, front edge where it can pass to the outside
in an area where only the foam sound-deadening material presses
against it. I left about 4 or 5 inches sticking down below the
generator box. The outside portion of the tube isn't too noticeable,
but it's just behind the front bumper. I used nylon 'wire bundle
ties' to hold it in place. I only needed to drill one small hole in
the triangular steel brace on the generator sub-assembly frame rail
to secure the tube.
