Looking for higher gear ratio to better my top end speed
My old 78 was upgraded to 4:88 from the original 5:xx by the
previous owner. I can cruise at 65 on the flat with the toad (GPS), but I usually hang around 60. It will go a little faster but it's old and so am I. You may have some difficulty finding the gears as others on the forum have mentioned. I am not sure what the RPMs are since my tachometer sticks and seems to under register based on the rpm/speed chart on the forum. If you look at the plates on the dash behind the engine cover tray it should have the rearend data on it.
