Air Brake System
That should be the check valve that isolates/protects the air bags,
step, and aux air fittings (air chucks in the compartment, etc.)
from the rest of the braking system. If the air pressure falls
below 65 PSI this would isolates those from the air tanks so that if
the leak was in that circuit you would not lose braking.
