Sound-deadening mat under carpet?

I'm new to all of this and recently purchased an 83FC 35. I want to replace
insolation in
dog house and generator compartment. I was reading a thread last night about
lead/
fibreglss material that was used by one of the members. His report was that it
was very
effective.

I hope to learn more before I choose the wrong stuff.
