81FC perkins genset,
Where are you located? We usually sign off with name, model of coach and
location, that way someone nearby maybe close enough to help. Now to your problem. That fuel shut off solenoid you are looking for is hooked to both oil pressure and water temp also. Is it possible your shop disconnected one or the other? When you say they did a major job of rewiring that scares me. My 1981 has an air assisted slide not electric and the only wiring is to a solenoid that feeds air to the ram and has nothing to do with the electrical of the genny. Give us some more details and maybe we can point you in the right direction. On the day of purchase my first stop was the fuel station. After adding 100 gallons it would not start. The Kenworth truck shop next to the fuel station towed me out of the pumps and into their shop. After replacing fuel filter (4 years old) and priming system I was running again. The bill for the tow job and mechanic for 3/4 hour was $7.80. WOW !! Finally, after arriving home I started working on the fresh water system to repair several leaks, (shower control valve-cracked, kitchen sink faucet- broke, waterline to toilet-burst). At a plumbing supply place I was able to order a shower valve that would fit- delivery 1 week. As I have to work at my regular job, and time is short, I decided to have the 81FC serviced by a profesional outfit. Since the Kenworth shop treated me so good I decided to give them some more buisness. I had a lube job and the oil changed and also the cooling system flushed on the main engine and the gen set. I arrived home and started the gen set to provide power while I continued working on the water system. The gen-set ran for 10 minutes then shut down and would not start. I called the Kenworth shop and explained to them that it worked fine before the oil change and radiator flush. "Bring it in, and we'll look at it" 10 days later(and some major rewiring to the slide harness) they say they can't find a fuel shut-off solenoid. Does anyone know where the Perkins/Kohler solenoids can be purchased? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
