Sounds like your alternator might be acting up. Mine did exactly the same
thing, and my driving became unsafe because I couldn't keep my eyes off the
always changing voltage gauge...it kept fluctuating just like yours. I took
the alternator off, and had it tested, and it tested OK, but I bought a new
higher amp model and put it in. The new alternator took care of the
problem...I
did install a new heavier cable (welding cable) that goes from the
alternator to the batteries to handle the heavier current.

I hope your issue is as easy to fix as mine was....
