USB 720 Modem
I have the same EVDO Modem from Verizon. I ordered an external
antenna from Verizon when I bought the modem. It plugs into the hole
under the little flap next to the green light. The antenna is about
6" tall with a magnetic base and about a 12' or 15' cord. Often it
works just fine sitting next to a window. (As I type this, I have all
bars on (best reception) and the antenna is sitting about a 6 inches
from the glass.) Often, I just set the antenna on the window sill. If
the reception isn't all that good, I'll put the antenna out the
window and stick it to the side of the coach -- moving it around
sometimes will "find" a sweet spot. In a really bad reception area,
I've put the antenna on the top of the coach. That usually does just
fine.

I've considered getting a cell phone signal amplifier (it picks up
all cell signals with an external antenna and rebroadcasts them
inside the coach). But I haven't gotten to the point where I really
need it. Often I get a better signal on the EVDO modem than I get on
my Verizon cell phone.
