Hi Dan,
Any chance of upgrading to 10.5 inch wheels and 365/70/22.5 tires? Prevost' often run front axle weights similar to yours and have been using the 365 tires for quite some time. I wouldn't get my hopes up on tag axle pressure adjustment fixing your problem. With a wheelbase as long as the 450's you could competely remove the tag axle and the decrease on the front axle would only be a few hundred pounds. Give me the axle weights and wheelbase and I'll tell you more precisely how much weight transfer you can expect.
