Jack and Liz, turn off the 110 vac at the breaker box, going to the water
heater. Remove the cap that covers the electrical connections and between the two spade type connectors there will be a re-setable circuit breaker ECO, push it to reset the breaker. Bring power back up and check for 110 vac with your meter on those spade connectors. That should get you hot water. If it trips again then we need to do an ohms check on the heating element. Lets not jump off the deep end planning a replacement until you know it needs replacing?
