Troubleshooting Bendix Fast Idle/Cruise Control on 89 35FC 3208 ATAAC
My multimeter testing indicated the potentiometer to be faulty or at
least out of tolernce. I tested with the 'pot' still on the coach and now am traveling in South Texas and will replace pot in April after this trip. Parts man named Spark at Seattle Clutch & Brake fixed me up with a new Bendix pot and spring assembly P/N 101951N. The CC works poorly but is still useful to allow me to keep my coach speed above the set speed (cruise control helps pull the injector pump to 'WOT' wide open throttle. The high idle still behaves same as when I first bought the FC back in Sept 2006, i.e. goes to 3000 rpm immediately when pressing the resume switch on the CC panel.
