This is probably a dumb question....
Just an FYI. My power steering failure was the pulley. The hub
disintegrated leaving the three spokes spinning around the pump shaft. I had to replace the pump due to the damage to the shaft. I had taken temperature measurments a few weeks earlier during a long trip and they were not excessive.
