Help with Air Throttle
Hi Dan,

This solenoid, that I referred to in the post, controls the air flow
to the Foot throttle, in conjuction with the Bendix Cruise Control.
On the 88 FC front engine it is located, under the coach between
the engine and battery box on the driver side. It is behind a steel
cover mounted to a steel box about 12" x 14" x 2".
Inside this box are all the associated parts for the Bendix cruise,
including the valves, solenoids, electronic module and lots of copper
pipe connecting all the stuff together, It is quiet a RAT's nest.
On an SP it is in the rear, driver side on the engine fire wall, open
and easy to see and work on. BB used this valve in several areas to
control air flow.
I do not know if your 88 PT Bird uses this system or where it would
be located.

The valve looks like this:

Or a better view here:

go to page #3 and scroll to the bottom , left side,
it is labeled " Grommet Housing Suffix G"
