pt 40 wont start
Matt,
Assuming your engine turns over, but won't fire...I had a similar problem, and it was the air actuated solenoid that controls the air intake into the engine (simpler terms). You can locate this solenoid by opening the engine hood, and you'll easily see this solenoid about mid-engine, just below eye height, but toward the rear of the engine (back of the bus). Take a longer handled screwdriver, and push lightly against the plunger, and it should slide over to the other side. I did this on mine, and it cranked over and fired up in about one second. Let me know if you have trouble locating this solenoid, let us know. I'd give you a more descriptive explaination, but I can't open the engine compartment on my BB right now because it's backed up to a fence...in the spirit of this forum, I'll go out and fire her up and pull forward a little if needed. Let me know..... Kevin McKeown Yorba Linda, CA 1986 38 PT 8V92 N6PSY Ham call [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
