Mr. Oliver
Dan,
I bought my coach from a gentleman who had it on consignment with Paul Davis. I am exceptionally happy with Mr. Davis and would buy from him again. Paul is an honest, straight up man. He let my family stay in the coach on his lot overnight to make sure we liked it, and told me to make a list of any problems I found so he could fix them in the morning. I found a few minor issues and true to his word, he had them fixed right away. He gave us a car to use, so we could get around town and purchase food and other items we needed for the 2,000+ mile drive home. He gave us a key to his gate so we could run around during the evening after he had closed. He and his people spent hours and hours answering all of my questions, teaching me about the coach, even gave me a quick & dirty driving lesson as I'd never operated something this big before. Pretty darn nice for someone who is only selling a coach on consignment, in my opinion. The only caveat I can provide is to have the coach inspected by Ralph Fullenwider, for two reasons: (1) Just to put another set of professional eyes on it above & beyond Paul's techs (who do a great job, by the way); and (2) On a purchase of this kind it's just a good idea to have a "buyer's agent" go over it. The only, I repeat only, reason I say this is because Paul's business is flipping coaches so he doesn't always know the full history and may miss things. He has the coach in his possession for a short period of time before it moves on to a new owner. They go through every coach pretty well and Paul's technicians are smart people - I watched them inspect and make repairs to another coach and they seemed quite thorough to me - but these are complicated machines and sneaky problems can get by everyone. One more set of experienced eyes is always good. I do not believe Paul would sell any coach that had a serious problem if he was aware of it so in regards to his character I have nothing but praise for the man. Now, all this being said, you asked if Paul stands by his sales. I'm not sure what you mean by that, but let me put it this way: When you buy a 20 year old coach you're not going to get a warranty in most cases. I'm not sure it much matters who you buy from in this respect. So, don't expect to be bringing it back to any dealer or private seller if you run into a problem a week later. These are almost always sold "as is, where is." You'll want to get comfortable with that before you buy from anyone. On the other hand, if you have concerns in this area, you can always ask Paul. If the man tells you he will warranty it then he will take care of you, but don't expect something like this from anyone unless you've had a discussion about it and you've been specifically given a warranty. -Ryan '86 PT-40 8V92 On Feb 11, 2008 10:38 AM, bingomaster05 > > Hi All, > > Was browsing for BB's and noticed a nice looking unit on Mr. Oliver's > site.
