Laminate repair

Hello Fred,

My coach had a couple of areas where there was damaged laminate when I
bought my coach. When I caused one to occur I understood what caused
the problem. To fix the damage; I found an area on my coach that was
concealed in which I could remove a piece of just the matching
laminate. The clunk of laminate was large enough to scavenge the
repair pieces I needed. I cut /trimmed the damaged laminate with a
Dremel tool and a razor knife. I carefully worked a piece of the
matching laminate with a Dremel/file/knife/sandpaper until it fit
perfectly. I glued the matching pieces in place with adhesive/chalk
that was close to the color of my laminate. I clamped it overnight.
I found someone with a router who just trimmed the outside edge of my
repair. I'll bet a stranger couldn't find the repaired areas unless I
showed them where they are.

All of the damaged areas of my laminate occurred when a door struck
either a cabinet frame or another door when being opened. I prevented
that damage from occurring again by putting shims (thin washers) under
the fasteners for the cabinet doors.
