Mick is there air to the cylinder? Did you check to see if the safety
switch is located just inside the door on the right side? I would run
this switch both way with the door open to see if you might have it
in the wrong position. Do you have air to the cylinder? either in
the open position or closed? Be careful when fooling around with
these steeps as they can open or close without to much warning.
There is a pressure switch cable that (Kind of looks like a heater
strip that glued under the steep entrance and this is a safety
feature to keep one from getting his feet squashed if the steps
should happen to retrace when in the open position). Mine being so
old that it just shorted out and would not let the step retract. You
should be able to see that unit if you look under the steeps and if
you want to remove it you can go to the door switch and disconet it
or just cut the wires that run to it and of course put some plastic
wire caps on the protruding wire. Keep in touch as I had a mess of
problems with my steps and it took me about two weeks to figure the
whole thing out. And remember SAFETY!!!!! do not get your hands in
between the gear that operate the steps in and out. Jon
