8v92 will not crank
Hi Scott,

Time to get greasy!!! I would check the voltage at the starter lug
before cranking. It needs to be at least 12.7 volts or you may have
weak battery issues. If that is OK, then try removing the cables on
the starter and cleaning the cable and ground lugs with some brake
cleaner, drying them and rubbing them with sandpaper. (did I say
you'll get greasy !!!) Also be sure to hold the bottom nut on the
starter stud while you loosen the cables or you may rotate the stud
and have some really fun problems- like removing the 550 pound
starter. I had my supply cable loosen bumping across I-44 in the
Missouri Ozarks. Did all this greasy stuff on the pavement at some
Cracker Barrel when the old girl would not start the next day. BTW- my
front door key (the Bargman one) fits the rear ignition switch nicely.
Give it a try.
