Texas Driver License's Requirements for Motorhomes over 26,500 lbs empty weight
Yes, Texas is one of the sates where you need more than a Class C for over
26,000 lbs. If you were a California resident, the weight wouldn't matter, but the over-40 feet would. Probably the combination of those two will trigger more than a Class C in most states. Texas rules can be found the driver's handbook, http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/ftp/forms/DLhandbook.pdf Page 1-4 and 1-5 have the classes and what they allow.
