Camera cables
My quest to upgrade the rear view camera continues...
Today, I managed to get the old camera and old monitor out of the bus. This, of course, has raised a new question for me. In my old FC, I changed out the old camera with a modern one. I kept the old monitor, which worked fine. I was able (using some connection adapters from Radio Shack) to plug the new camera right into the original coax camera cable. Presto! New camera worked great. With that in mind, my hope was that I would be able to change out the camera and the monitor on my PT and just plug each of them into the original cable, thereby saving me the headache of running a new cable. The problem? The original monitor doesn't have a coax plugged into the back like I expected...just a pin connector with several small wires on it. So my question...does anyone know where the single cable that comes out of the camera terminates? And, am I just being foolish to believe I can use that old cable with a new camera and LCD monitor anyway? Scott Forman 86 PT38 Memphis |
