It is a mechanical relay that is energized by an electronic circuit
that senses voltage over 13.2. The relay is rated for 80 amps, but
will shut off if a high-amp (OVER 150A) discharge happens. If one of
your banks is low, you should bypass the unit with your "aux battery"
switch on the dash.

It should not be mounted in the battery compartment because of the
hydrogen gas (BOOM). I placed mine in the old redi-line compartment of
my PT, next to the Xantrex inverter/charger.
