ULSD Fuel additives

ULSD Fuel additives
I think the additives were a big sales gimick. Every fuelline or
Ipump issue is now going to be blamed on new fuels. what was the
reason prior to ulsd?

I have always added ATF fluid to my diesel fuel when I think of it.
I have driven over 20k with no issues in a 92 cummins N14 W/350,000
miles on the clock. I know of dirt haulers (old rigs) who have
driven many more miles with no additives and no issues.

I guess it cant hurt to buy and drop additives. if they burn like
fuel you get back $5.00 per the gallon. I drop the used crankcase
oil in the fuel tank (1g,oil/100g,fuel to 2/100) for a $50.00
refund.

Dirty Filters were a warning sign I looked for with the ulsd
additive promo campaigns. , I have only replaced three fuel filters
in 200,000 miles they were replaced in a one week period. it seems
as dirty filter issues happen in a series untill the tank
contaminants are loaded in the filter. I dont treat fuel filters as
a maintenance item and only replace at issue. 20 filters not bought
at 36.15 per =$723.00 in my pocket.
