| It's only 30 years old! Michael, There is a sending unit driven from the camshaft. Most Tachs are adjustable, in fact that adjustment is usually where I find the problems. I have the dash out of our BB right now doing some other work so I will look at the tach tomorrow and see how it is set. I got a replacement sending unit from Teleflex a few years ago and it worked with our existing tach so I am sure that they make a tach that will work with it. If you have a oscilloscope or a digital meter that will display frequency you can use it to check the sending unit by connecting it to the signal leads at the tach location. - Chuck Wheeler- FC 31SB Fort Worth TX From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Michael Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 12:18 PM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: It's only 30 years old! Thanx for the advice Chuck. However, I have an empty hole in the dash so I'm not sure what happened to the original? When I look at the marine tachs they are mentioning "number of poles". Any idea how our sending units are setup on the 3208's? Michael --- In "WanderlodgeForum%40yahoogroups.com", "Chuck Wheeler" > > Mike, > I you like to tinker I have repaired two BB tachometers.
