94pt shuts off in traffic
traced wires to the ig::
The "engine compartment light" shares a breaker with both ig switches this may be the issue (three wires off this breaker). If the engine compartment light or the bay door switch to the light keeps tripping a fuse, you are screwed the light wires are protected by the breaker tripping and the bus stops. there are several breakers in the back (little silver boxes with two 5/16? inch studs) under and around the big reed copper shunts along the wall above the 3 start batteries. power to the ig switch is via this 40 foot long wire 'orange and black'. I think I will lablel all three breakers ;then replace ;then pick a new big wire source up near the cockpit to send 12 v to the ig switch ( add a 20 amp breaker there also). the small wire is sufficient to run the power to the ig switch because the ig switch (key) only need little amperage to flip a larger 75amp relay. but there are just too many things that can happen in 40 feet and the compartment light is just one more error prone item that can cause collateral damage. other computer issues have arisen in the past with the breakers in this area. While roadside, RobR directed me to jump one for a limp repair but removal of that breaker did not cut power. (Rob was close) it may be heat deterioration in the breakers or the fact that I dont close the engine compartment door all the way to a solid lock because the clasps are not aligned???? so now is the time to replace all the crap back there. I prob will put the breaker in the same spots but for sure will move the source of 12 v to the front ig to a big wire in the cockpit area.
