Break-in Recommendations

My Detroit Service Manual states that after major work the engine shall be placed on a Dyno under various loads. It also is very clear that temperatures be monitored so as not to over heat the engine. Since that is not possible, I suggest you monitor temperatures closely on the return trip. It will get plenty of work from Canada to TX so you will not be able to baby it. I always ran in engines on aircraft and cars at full power. Don't personally know about a 8v92 but consider it in a boat. They are always under power. so what else could you do. So I would guess you drive it like you stole it.
