New Owner

I met Richard on the phone today....

He was a referral by a local big truck and bus drive train repair
facility.

He has a 1989 PT40 equipped with a Kohler/Yanmar 12.5 Gen.

Had some probs with the gen portion (not the engine) and replaced the
stator and some other stuff. The control box is original, including
the 3 relays.

Now that the install is complete, the yanmar won't continue to run.
Like a over-heat/low oil sensor shuts it down. The fuel shut off
solenoid is not staying in the run position.

Thats what I know from our conversations today. Ralph or someone, can
you help Richard with this issue?

Richard did not know of this site- does now. He has owned his Bird for
a few months now... survived a front tire blow-out on the way home!!!

Richard is a retired electrician and firefighter from Decatur, IL,
just 30 minutes from me...

Welcome to the wealth of information provided by this bunch of fellow
Bird lovers. This is were I cut my teeth 5 years ago.... the answers
all came from a Bird forum...
