Transmission Red Light
Maybe it is something to do with Neutral safety switch? the start
terminal runs from the key to that NSS then to the starter relay
then to the starter solenoid. the Neutral safety switch proves issue
with other things like high idle and retarder functions. the rear
switch orange=power pink=ign purple=start.

I guess the switch that Leroy spoke of has a function to not allow
the Allison to be shifted when the bus is started from the rear. Do
you see the switch Leroy spoke of that makes the choice front or
rear? even the front ign runs back to that switch. I found the 20
amp fuse/brakers for the ig behind the bumper.
