Transmission Red Light
I had that happen to me earlier this year. Havent been to a dealer to get it checked, but thats on the list of things I need to get looked at before my next trip. You should have some flashing lights by the check trans sw if its like my '87 PT40. If you turn on the ignition and you _dont_ get the 'do not shift light' AND the trans error light for a few seconds then you have a burnt out bulb. You'll need to find the code and go from there. I replaced mine with a LED from ratshack... The plug for the trans is on the passenger side of the trans on mine, just about even with the charger compartment. YMMV. You can try 'exercising' the plug and see if that work, or check voltages there. I attached a copy of the code chart, hope it helps... /Joe joedana0502 wrote: > > > Does anybody know if there is a way to overide the transmission do not > shift light.
