Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Air Brake Troubleshooting

Here is angood document on fixing airbrake systems. most trucks and bus apps are typical but the wanderlodge has an appliance hardwired to the brake system that blows air in potable plumbing lines for winterizing.

One other good read for air brakesis this municipal hand out. NovaScotia AirBrake Manual. U tube has some good how to pretrip air brakes and DOT leak test videos.

It helps to find leaksof airby using a remote by 100 foot electric compressor to pump things up on the bus ( much quieter than the 3208). When close to the sound, it helps to grease a finger to pinpoint by feel for aleak (backoff Rob).

dont forget to chock tires then release the park brake to test the integrity of the lines, valvesand diaphram that hold the park brake off the drum.

Nappa has replacement valves and fittings for most every thing. copper airlines and rubber hoses used on early units were good if not better but now compramised by age and fatique. the new plastic air lines are the best way to go when making a modification requiring a change ( my opinion).
