Kurt, the frame on my dump truck twist quite a bit as I drive off road. I converted the truck from a city tractor and within one month the exhaust had 3 cracks ( one at the manifold) I replaced the pipe and bends then used widebands to join the unions and not pipe in bell ends that the system had. on one problem area I used straps with springs for washers to keep agressive but nota fixedforce on the joint. The truck builders crossed the frame to hang the stack whick leaves alot of room for flex and give to help avoid a crack but the bus exhaust cantilevers close off the maniforl. I think the weight of the exhaust should be held ridgit at the top with a single point as a pivot. then hung stable from the sides????? one other point to check is the motor and transmission mounts. they too cause diferential movement that may result as a crack.
