New FC Generator Fan Motor is Quiet!

I've always been bothered by the noise under the awning of the
generator. Thought about modifiying things...thermostat control on
the fan, 12v fan, etc. Well, the motor crapped out on me finally.
As I saw it, the motor could be removed only after the outer cover,
the radiator, the fan blade, and the shroud were removed. After
doing all of that, my experimenting ideas had vanished and I went out
and bought a replacement motor and put it all back together as it was
from the factory.

Well, what do you know! The new motor is alot quieter than the old
one! I always figured it was the fan blades making all the racket,
but the motor was contributing to quite a bit of the noise. It
sounds now about as quiet as it was when the fan motor quit.

The original motor was still good, I believe, but the electrical
connections after 25 years of vibrating were gone...finally to the
point of no longer making enough contact to operate the motor. Maybe
it was running off-on-off-on and that made all the noise.
