Regarding the recent TV upgrade thread, I also replaced the front one
this past year when the 20" Toshiba CRT started dying. I wanted one
that fit in the original opening so it would not interfere with the
side cabinet doors or intrude into the living area.

I ended up with a 23" Samsung HD LCD (LN-T2353H) black bezel model
that fit snuggly from side to side. The LCD units have less height
than the old tube models, so I built a quick plywood tray/drawer with
slides and snap locks, and with a center bracket to mount a LCD VESA
wall mount to. We then covered the interior and tray with a thin
black faux leather. That way we can easily slide the LCD in and out as
needed. It also gives me access to the space behind the unit. I may
go in later and build that space out more to add other electronics,
but for now, I have just added a power and antenna surge suppressor to
protect the LCD.

Just more ideas for anyone upgrading their TV. FWIW.
