A newbie's DD questions
I know that older DD engines are two strokes with cam actuated
exhaust valves but no intakes because they are blower scavenged. I also think I know that the -71 series GM diesels had belt driven Rootes-type superchargers. Here is my first question: Do all -92 series engines have turbochargers? (ie, not superchargers). Second question: On busses with 8V92 engines, are the engines mounted inline or transverse? I know that on the old GM 4610/4710 busses with 6V71 engines, the engines were mounted transversely. On 8V92 engined birds, is the transmission ahead of or behind the rear axle? To whoever takes the time to answer this post, MANY THANKS in advance! John Alldredge |
