Thanks for the info Brad. I agree with you about the Michelin tires, and the (4) 6 volt Interstate batteries in my FC were," well I don't know how old", when I got it 2 yrs. ago, and they still do the job. I just don't want to hit the road next spring and have problems. Would rather take care of that potential headache before hand. I just found out that Interstates are made by Johnson Controls, which I know is a quality mfg. I have heard of and experienced problems with Excide batteries, (they make Wal-marts batteries) which I am now on my 3rd one in my Jeep GC. I don't want to be replacing one or two 6 volt batteries 6 mos. or a yr. later, as I have always heard in my case, you should replace all 4. I am leaning towards buying the Interstates, unless anyone steps up with a lot of problems. Thanks for the tip on the T-105's Hank, I will look but have heard that they are quite pricey. I will also look at the Eveready batts., but I can't link them like you have done Shane. There is only room for 4 batts. in my FC31. Thats why I would like to use those (4)for house use, and put (1) or (2) on the curb side for starting. Thanks for everyones help, George Burke 1977 FC31SB Charlotte

I like Interstate batteries like Michelin tires, but they're not the only brands that are reliable.
I use a WalMart 12v to start my generator. My father in law who has a ranchette and lots of tractors and things, uses WalMart batteries all the time. They're always good to honor their warranties. I'd say, as long as you could merge your starting batteries to start your generator just in case, you could probably save a little money with a WalMart battery with a 48-60 month warranty on it.

A while back some folks had mentioned the use of Wal-mart batteries in their Bird. I was thinking of replacing my (4) 6 volt batts this spring, presently have old Interstates. I also wanted to put in (1) or (2) new starting batts. on the curb side as some of you have done. Will have to find out whats neededto best startmy 534 c.i. gasser. Iwas thinking of using all Wal-mart batts., but am nowlooking at Reliability issues . I have a 2001 Jeep GC, and have just replaced the Everstart Maxx 65N for the 3rd time, Oct-2007, Mar-2008, and Nov.-2008. It is the correct battery for this car, and the entire electrical system has been checked, no problems. Consumer Reports just rated this battery very high on their list, however, I don't think that their rating was anyway based on problems customers have experienced. Would appreciate any input about any (wet cell) batteriesthat you have experience with. Thanks, George Burke 1977FC Charlotte
