Battery recommendation
Gary,

I went down this path for the first time last year with a similar question. We
had to
replace the four 6 volt deep cycle batteries in our 83 FC 35.

The consensus at the time was that golf cart batteries were the way to go.

Trojan T-105s were among the best and available and these cost a little over
$100 each.

The lowest price golf cart batteries were Sam's Energizers at about $60 - $70
each.

I have seen posts on the forum touting the benefits of each. We went with the
trojans and
a good 3-stage charging system (ProSine 2K) are very happy so far.
