Merry Christmas from South Padre Island

We took 37 out of San Antonio south to 77 just north of Corpus and
then proceeded south on 77 all the way to Park Road 100 out to the
Island. Traffic was *very* light on Saturday, but we had excellent
police protection the entire way, so the speed limits are more than a
suggestion. We just set the cruise control at 65 and behaved
ourselves, especially on the infamous Park Road 100 speed-trap portion
of the highway.

The Sheraton is still closed and the Radisson is now renamed The Isla
Grand Beach Resort, but it still has their buffet. We did Christmas
dinner there today. It was OK, but the entire staff is brand new and
they needed more dry runs on the service.

Was supposed to be 82 today. Not sure if it got that high, but it was
real nice out and still is very pleasant at nearly midnight as I write
this.
