If you like oysters go a little further to the east, Indian Pass Camp Ground is between Port St Joe And Apalachicola. No sewer connection but they have cable tv due to all the condos being built. It is an old camp ground with many winter visitors from the north. We spent New Years eve 2007 dancing to music under the moon in the sand, great time. Their is a state park reserve just off shore you can catch a ferry for a day visit great shelling on the main land ,we were going to stay longer to visit the island but the temp dropped to the teens and windy. There is also a great oyster bar that has been rebuilt on the same location after storm damage. When you your order for the oysters (however you like them) we did not get a check for food, when you leave you tell the cashier what you had then pay, trusting people. The camp ground owns there own oyster bed so if you don't mind getting wet pick your own. Apalachicola has as many antique shops as oyster shucking houses. We plan to go again in the spring or summer with our grand children. Good luck
