From all reports I have seen those fans work fine. I think LilStanker has a model that installs in the vent line so you don't have to mess with the vent venturi. I think on one of these forums someone just installed them. That vent for all intent and purposes operates in a semi vacuum at best. It still would not hurt to seek out the source of the issue. I have never had the problem except when driving with a window open. I cured that by closing the drains while in motion.
