Has anyone tried replacing dual drive tires with super singles?

I have 22.5 on the steerand 24.5 on drive and tag. Would anyone want to swap the 24.5 for my 22.5? Don't know why the discrepency. Sure is hard to change a tire if I have a blowout on the steers. Found that they could hold 13k each, but the rims, being special, cost 600 bucks. Tires were also 600 bucks. Weight saved was 400 lbs. Wasn't worth it so didn't.
