80 bird with 3208 cat keeps stalling - PLEASE help
Well,,, I made my own recycling system using my onboard 2 micron RACOR
filter. I hooked up a T on the output of the RACOR , and a shut-off on each end of the T. I close off the side going to the engine, and open the other side, which goes to a regular electric fuel pump (from NAPA, or any parts store) , and run it back into the tank. I chose to run it back into the neck where I drilled and installed a permanent elbow to connect the return line to. I used clear fuel line,(so I can monitor the pumping), and even put one of those magnetic things that Algae X claims breaks up the "clumps" of fuel,, (although not as big a magnet as theirs). When I am ready to hit the road, I turn off the pump, close the recirculating side, and open the engine side of the T,,, and hit the road,,, (It will even draw fuel into the RACOR, if you have changed the filter, and need to refill it) And it cost me a lot less than some of those systems I saw on those links,,, Less than fifty bucks, anyway. I was using the larger micron filters, until today, when I got a case of 12 of the 2 micron filters.(for $7.02 each,, under 95 bucks with shipping) Since I don't hit the road too many times a year, I need to keep the fuel circulating. I had a real problem with algae in my tank before I installed this,,, and it has really cleaned up my fuel,,, along with some good algae eater stuff. Wish I had installed it and filtered the tank before I went on my first outing with my bird,,, boy, I can't remember how many filters I went through on that first trip!! Now, I can hit the road without worrying about clogged filters,,,, DAY 83 PT-40 JAX FLA,,, [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
