Rest areas, picnic areas, roadside stopping/resting areas along US 281 in TX?
There are several along the way; one fairly large one south of Lampasas and one at Hamilton. Have you googled "texas roadside parks"? I did and there are lots of sites to view; no sense in both of us looking. There is one on west side as you go downhill to Marble Falls, but its on a good grade and might be tricky parking.

Howdy.
Traveling on US 281 from San Antonio, TX to Granbury, TX, I look for roadside rest areas, picnic areas or wide spots along the side of the road where Jack can pull over, stop the Bird and rest for a little bit. I have done searches on Google and can only find rest areas along the Interstate highways. So if you know of any places along US 281 from SA to Granbury where we can park the Bird for a short while, please let us know.
