Rest areas, picnic areas, roadside stopping/resting areas along US 281 in TX?
Liz, if you are in Benbrook, you can pick up 281 in Stephenville. Excellent road all the way south. Lots of little towns with their own city parks.

Howdy.
Traveling on US 281 from San Antonio, TX to Granbury, TX, I look for roadside rest areas, picnic areas or wide spots along the side of the road where Jack can pull over, stop the Bird and rest for a little bit. I have done searches on Google and can only find rest areas along the Interstate highways. So if you know of any places along US 281 from SA to Granbury where we can park the Bird for a short while, please let us know.
