you check that 5 ½ gallon number? The number I have for my 88 is 4
gallons.

Dan,

Pete has a different trans(6sp) than we do. That being said, the

aux filter is a spin on, also bought from Napa(just
tell them it's

for an HT700 series). Before installing, fill it with fluid and make

sure it's TIGHT, and the other is in the valve body area just inside the pan. I
think there are 2 bolts holding it on but I really don't remember,it's
been a couple of years. At the last seminar that I

went to, they said we can go 50k, with no time limits. That is if you

don't abuse it, ie spinning the tires on take off, or using the

retarder constantly. The 50k, is with syn. Dino oil, go 5k, or at

engine oil change time, again it's all in how it's used. Remember, more

retarder use changes those parameters. Heat is also a killer.

Put 5 1/2 gallons in, crank engine, run it through the gears, add

to full cold mark. When possible, drive it for a bit(until warm),

check again(make sure it's somewhat level), and add as needed.

Also, check for leaks,especially around the filter. Did I mention

to make sure it's TIGHT.
